Short Subjects
Short Subjects (now called “Short Films”) became an Academy Award category in 1931-32. The category recognizes animated and live-action films of three reels in length (about 30 minutes) or under. On this site, Short Subjects are essays, lists, and references to subjects that are not covered in other areas. They are intended to be an overview of a subject rather than an in-depth discussion.
